Scottish artist David Mach has created an Elvis bust created entirely of colored matches. The larger statues consist of more than 50,000 colored match heads from Japan and took more than 500 hours to create. It has sold for £18,000. Four smaller versions of the Elvis busts consist of 15,000 match heads each.
He has also created other statues of Buddah, a Gorilla, Mao Tse Tung, Marilyn Monroe, Muhammed Ali, a Ram, a Rhino and a Stag. The sculptures can be viewed on his website.
