R.I.P. TINY DANCER

Tiny Dancer image courtesy of Jenny Gomes and Dogster.com

Tiny Dancer
, the 2 year old long haired Chihuahua from Florida has just passed on. The 4 inch tall dog was up for the "smallest dog" record with Guinness Book of World Records. He also spent time as a therapy dog, bringing joy to others.

His owner Jenny Gomes states on Tiny Dancer's Dogster Page:

"I have lost the love of my life...my Tiny Dancer! He gave me so much to look forward to and he enriched so many lives with his Therapy Dog work! God why did you take him from me so soon...I still need him so much! My heart is breaking into little pieces and I can't stop crying! I know it will get better...I don't want it to...I want my baby back! I feel like I can't breath...It's really hard to see thru the tears...I know I have lots of other animals that need me...but...I need my little man back!

Sorry for going on and on...but, I have no other outlet other than here! God...Please take care of my Tiny Dancer...I will see you again one day...I love you soooooo much!"

God Bless Tiny Dancer!

I remember Christian "Cee" Farrow from my teenage years in Hollywood. He was so smooth, elegant and drop dead gorgeous.

A singer, model and host of the legendary nightclub The Apartment, he was always iconic. Like a Teutonic god dropped from heaven...I'll "Love You Forever". R.I.P. Mr. Farrow. Additional info on Cee Farrow can be found via this link.

Another song from Cee Farrow that I love is "Lost and Memorized" found on his "Red and Blue" album.

Thanks to Huey for the blog posting suggestion. Truly Inspired.

Legendary model Dorian Leigh passed away this Monday July 9th 2008 at a nursing home in Church Hills, Virginia or Alzheimer's related complications. She was 91.

Considered one of the first "super"models, she started her career in the 1940's and continued working through the 1960's. In 1946 she graced 6 Vogue covers and followed with 50 more covers in various magazines for the next 6 years.

She has worked for photographers such as Irving Penn, Louise Dahl-Wolfe, Richard Avedon, and other legends for publications such as Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Life, etc.

Her work for Revlon's "Fire and Ice" and "Cherries in the Snow" campaigns are still considered iconic. This success led her to earning an annual salary of $300,000 which as unheard of at that time.

Dorian Leigh is also credited for jump starting her younger sister Suzy Parker's modeling career by stipulating to Eileen Ford that she would sign with Ford Models as long as they would sign her sister sight unseen. Suzy's career would wind up eclipsing Dorian's. You can learn more about both by reading Michael Gross' "MODEL: The Ugly Business of Beautiful People".

Ms. Leigh was also the inspirations for the Jo Stockton character in Funny Face and for Truman Capote's Holly Golightly character in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Both were played by Audrey Hepburn in the movie versions.
