Here is a new discussion thread, "SUPERNOVA", dedicated to SUPERSTARS on the rise.
Our first nomination is SOLANGE KNOWLES, little sister of Beyonce Knowles, whose "I DECIDED" single is currently #1 on the U.S. R&B charts. She is 22 years old, was married at 18 years old, divorced a few years afterwards, and has a son now that is almost 4 years old.
Solange's newest album "Solange - Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams" is set to drop at the end of August 2008. Check out Solange's MySpace page. Her first album was released with little fanfare at the age of 17 in 2003.
Solange describes her music as a combination of old girl groups like The Ronnettes and The Supremes, the "Wall of Sound" production style created by Phil Spector and new electronica that she discovered while on a previous trip to Europe.
At the moment Solange is visiting the U.K. and other cities in Europe to promote her new single and album.
